Job SummaryThe Studio Clubhouse Director is responsible for planning, implementing, and managing the BGCMC Studio Clubhouse program, driving its effectiveness and fostering a positive environment. The key goal of the BGCMC Studio Clubhouse program is to use music as a vehicle for developing academic and social skills, ultimately building self-confidence and self-esteem.ResponsibilitiesDeliver enthusiastic and engaging music programming that fosters a love for music in Club members. Utilize your passion and expertise for music to motivate and guide members in areas such as music theory, history, and performance.Design and execute a comprehensive music program tailored to diverse ages and skill levels. Ensure the program incorporates both practical and theoretical music components.Create a welcoming and supportive Club atmosphere where members feel encouraged to explore their musical talents. Employ effective youth group management techniques to maintain a respectful and productive environment.Plan, organize, and direct Club member performances, including concerts, recitals, and other musical events. Guide members through rehearsals, providing constructive feedback and support to enhance their performance skills.Regularly evaluate members’ musical development through various methods such as assessments, practice sessions, and performances. Offer constructive feedback and set personalized goals to help each member achieve their potential.Oversee the upkeep and management of musical instruments, computers and teaching materials. Ensure that all equipment is in good condition and readily available for member use.Work closely with staff, parents, and community members as appropriate to support members’ musical education.Stay current with the latest trends in music, instructional strategies, and technology.Maintain records of members’ progress and achievements and provide reports as required or requested.Engage with the community through outreach programs, school events, and partnerships with local music organizations.Support the promotion, recruiting, and implementation of the BGCMC Studio Clubhouse programs to ensure maximum engagement.Additional duties as assigned.QualificationsHigh School diploma or GED. Bachelor degree or minor in music a plus.3-5 years of experience teaching contemporary music to youth preferred.Working knowledge and proficiency in two or more contemporary musical instruments (guitar, bass, keys, drums).General knowledge of music theory.Experience with music production; working knowledge of Hip Hop, Beat Making R&B and Pop.Strong oral and written communications skills.Ability to establish and maintain strong effective working relationships with organization staff, board members, and volunteers.Strong commitment to youth development and music.RELATIONSHIPS : Internal : Maintain close daily contact with 21st Century Director, Club staff and volunteers to receive and provide information.External : Maintain contact as needed with external vendors, community groups, schools, and others.Job Type : Full-timePay : $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per yearBenefits : 401(k)Dental insuranceEmployee assistance programHealth insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSchedule : Day shiftEvening shiftMonday to FridayWeekends as neededApplication Question(s) : What contemporary musical instrument do you play?What is your experience with music production?Work Location : In person#J-18808-Ljbffr
