What are the responsibilities and job description for the Compliance Coordinator position at BGSF?
Our client is seeking a Logistics Compliance Coordinator to support their team onsite in Franklin, IN. This person will prepare documentation required for customs clearance, trade agreements, and customer requirements such as United States Mexico Canada Agreement (USMCA), Country of Origin (COO), American Automotive Labelling Act (AALA) and other agreements as needed.
Responsibilities:
• Completing government documentation with compliance accordance – Proof export and import documentation such as entry summary, commercial invoices, packing lists, ISF data sheet, etc.
• Complete and declare Tooling and Assists to Customs as notified by Purchasing and Sales Department.
• Complete customer requirements such as USMCA, COO, AALA, CAFE to appropriate customer portals.
• Maintain Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) certification
• Research trade agreements and customs requirements for compliance.
• Complete PSC, Protests, Prior Disclosures, EEI Audits and Reconciliations.
• Ensure shipments meet Export Control Regulations.
• Research US Import and Export regulations when needed.
• Supplier Management – Obtain COO Certificates, AALA documentation, HTS classification from all vendors annually or with new requirements throughout the year.
• HTS Coding – Determine the HTS coding of new material and part number.
• Maintain accuracy of the HTS coding and COO in ERP System.
• Complete monthly management reports as necessary.
• Analyze freight for budget and planning purposes.
• Maintain Standard Operational Procedure for Brokers.
Requirements
• BS degree or 5 years experience in a related field with international transportation and documentation requirements.
• Working knowledge of regulations of US Customs compliance.
• Ability to arrange and prepare paperwork necessary for customs clearance.
• Ability to track shipments and communicate with logistics companies.
• Strong computer and administrative/organizational skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Attend Customs related classes as deemed necessary for position.
• Some business travel as needed.
Salary : $60,000 - $70,000
