Junior Accountant

2 ROLES: STAFF 65K AND SENIOR

Staff level Trust Compliance Associate to conduct trust accounting and trust and regulatory compliance for the organization.

• Degreed Accountant with 2-3 years of Banking experience is ideal
• Regulatory and Compliance experience reconciling customer accounts
• Journal Entries, administrative financial functions, good with spreadsheets and data
• $60-65K with 3 weeks PTO, medical benefits and paid parking for Downtown Houston

Have 2 positions (Staff up to $65k and Senior - up to $85k MUST BE OUT OF BANKING). Candidates should have an accounting background with good spreadsheets and data knowledge.

Someone with BANKING and compliance will be very helpful.

The role has GREAT growth potential (this is a unique area of business so really need candidates who can dive into the work and learn the intricacies to move up).

Compliance Accounting Associate

• Follow policies to ensure compliance with regulations and advises on trust activities.
• Reconcile transactions/accounts for endowment care and preneed trusts.
• Prepare schedules and journal entries for monthly accruals.
• Reviews trust transactions for regulatory compliance.
• Manages day-to-day trust processes, including withdrawals, fund transfers, earnings allocations, and investment monitoring.
• Tracks deadlines and notifies when due dates are near.
• Maintains transaction summaries and other regular processes.
• Works with business locations to ensure timely trust reporting.
• Assists with annual financial and regulatory audits.
• Supports the completion of trust tax returns for different jurisdictions.
• Provides ad-hoc reporting and analysis.
• Stays updated on changes in preneed and trust regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• Up to 2 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on financial and/or trust reporting preferred.
• Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
