Corporate office for a manufacturer has an immediate opening for an Jr Accountant at our corporate office in Stafford, Texas. This position is responsible for providing business support to the finance, and manufacturing facility. Responsible for assisting with all daily financial activities of the site, including customer billing, month end closing and provide clerical support to Accounting team.
Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to):
- Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
- Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines
- Assist with reviewing of expenses, payroll records etc. as assigned
- Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed
- Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports
- Assist senior accountant in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings
- Appraise, evaluate, and inventory real property and equipment, recording information such as the description, value, and location of property.
- Maintain accurate and update depreciation schedules
- Assist with other accounting projects such as yearly audits
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Jr. Accountant
- Excellent organizing abilities
- Great attention to detail
- Good with numbers and figures and an analytical acumen
- Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software (e.g. SAGE)
- Qualifications (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
- BS/BA in accounting, finance or relevant field is a plus but not required
Schedule:
- Monday - Friday, 8am 5 pm
