BH Solutions Group is an Executive Recruiting and Consulting firm located in Akron, OH.
We have been retained by a private investment firm to assist in their search for a Controller for their organization. The firm makes equity investments in a diverse range of middle market enterprises, capitalizing each investment, allowing flexibility in the types of transactions it pursues and an indefinite time horizon for its ownership of any given asset. This flexibility has made the company a preferred acquirer in situations involving closely-held companies or unique deal dynamics.
Position: The results-oriented Controller will be responsible for the firm’s accounting function. Assisting the firm management, will provide financial analyses, budgets, expense reviews, billing and collections oversight, conflicts management and development of cost savings recommendations that will enhance the financial operations of the firm
Duties and Responsibilities
Company Support
- Responsible for the preparation of monthly financial statements, including analysis of trends, comparison to budget, and projection of expected results.
- Prepare consolidated forecasts, budgets, and analyses trends to revenue, expense, capital expenditures, compensation, and other expense variances relative to budget
- Maintains the company’s system of accounts, keeps books and records of the company and its affiliates; reviews accounting processes in effort to enhance the financial management systems of the firm
- Calculates management fees and invoicing portfolio companies for the same
- Responsible for cash collections, accounts receivable and accounts payable management, and payroll processing
- Manages cash flow; records incoming / outgoing cash, process day-to-day transactions producing periodic financial account reports.
- Coordinates with tax accountants the creation and filing of corporate tax returns, including State, Local, and Federal
- Assist and coordinate minor Human Resource and IT-related functions and tasks
- Managing investor relations, addressing LP inquiries, and distributing K-1 forms for portfolio companies
Founder & Chairman Support
- Manage cash flow, pay invoices and maintain books and records for the owner’s personal assets
- Provide information for quarterly net worth statements.
- Liaising with tax accountants the creation and filing of the owner's tax return.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
- CPA certification is preferred
- 5-7 years of experience in a similar position; professional service firm experience is required
- Ideal candidate will have current or prior experience working within Private Equity
- Strong knowledge of accounting and financial management principles
- Able to be adaptable and possess Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with a diverse executive team and staff
Salary : $180,000 - $200,000
