Interior Designer - Industrial Design

Your Role The Opportunity
As an Interior Designer, you will join the firm at our Charlotte, NC office and be responsible for collaborating with the project team to prepare interior design drawings and be accountable for multiple small and medium-sized project work in our Integrated Industrial Design division. Your work will require you to be proficient in technical knowledge, and interior design skills and continue to advance your skill set. This junior-level role provides the opportunity to pursue professional growth while contributing to a firm with a deep knowledge of workplace business and a passion for improving student and faculty experiences.
The Role Priorities
- Assist the project team in producing quality interior design work in all project phases
- Expertise in creating big ideas and innovative thinking
- Work closely with the Senior Interior Designer in managing the client and project staff on larger projects.
- Coordinating all aspects of the project work with the client's representative.
- Develop an understanding of quality management and effective project work in accordance with quality management procedures
- Ability to draw or represent design thinking using traditional design tools, including hand sketching
- Maintain strong relationships with Clients through excellent communication skills, reliability, punctuality, and innovation.
- Professional approach to time, costs, and deadlines
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Promote a workplace culture that is consistent with the BHDP Collective Ambition
Skills Qualifications
- A professional, accredited degree in Interior Design, Architectural Design, or a related field of study, along with 5 years of experience
- Must have or be working toward NCIDQ certification
- Proficient in advanced technology (e.g., Revit, Sketch-Up, Rhino)
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as part of an effective team, assisting and supporting team members
