What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of APP Residency-Berkshire Faculty Services-Primary Care-Full Time position at BHS Management Services?
We are hiring an experienced NP to direct operations of a new clinic designed to train newly graduated NPs and PAs interested in a career in primary care. This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week with shared on call for after hours.
The director will handle oversight of recruitment, selection, onboarding, scheduling and competency assessments of APP residents. The Director will collaborate with a part time physician for curriculum development, oversight and implementation, as well as identifying and making provision for development and training needs and gaps.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver primary preventive care, urgent care, chronic disease management and transitional care.
- Maintain clinical competence by managing a panel of patients and sharing that panel with the APP residents.
- Supervise newly licensed NPs and PAs through precepting appointments, case studies, portal and task management support, and formal didactic sessions to prepare them for the complexities of practicing primary care in a community setting.
- Care should be evidence based, with attention paid to metrics as required by ACO participation.
- Work with a practice manager to maintain staffing and coverage, hear and resolve complaints. The office will be supported with community health workers, behavioral health support and chronic care nursing.
- The director may also work with specialty offices to arrange training of new APPs in areas common to primary care, especially in areas where care gaps are identified.
Applicants must have at least 7 years of experience managing their own primary care panel. They should have prior experience leading other APPs, strong leadership qualities and a professional demeanor. Experience with curriculum or experiential learning is preferred.
