Bi-Bett Corporation is a California non-profit engaged for the past 50 years in the treatment and recovery of adults with primary substance use and co-occurring disorders, alcohol, or other drug problems. Originally based in Contra Costa County, Bi-Bett now operates residential and outpatient programs in Alameda and Solano Counties as well.
The Bi-Bett Mission: To provide effective and affordable human services to individuals, families and communities with alcohol and drug related problems in the belief that everyone has value and can grow through change if given one’s rightful opportunity to choose. Our goal is to create culturally appropriate alcohol and drug-free environments in which one may experience personal and social growth.
Current Open Shifts:
Reports to: Program Coordinator
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive intake assessments and collaborative treatment planning according to ASAM guidelines.
- Perform individual and or group treatment in accordance with best practices.
- Provide facility coverage as needed, maintain a calm alcohol and drug free homelike environment.
- Provide medication monitoring and Drug testing.
- Participate in weekly case and chart reviews.
- Work in close collaboration with other Counselors, Case Manager and Program Coordinator.
- Where applicable, provide Withdrawal Management intakes, assessments, observation, and supervision.
- Attend County meetings and training as required.
- Have complete knowledge of all DHCS regulations.
- Have complete understanding of Program compliance areas such as detox protocols, intakes, emergency protocols, etc.

- Women Preferred - Women's Residency
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the field of Substance Abuse is required.
- Certified AOD Counselor preferred, will consider candidates in possession of a registration to obtain certification as an Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Counselor issued by one of the certifying agencies approved by the State of California.
- Completion of a Certificate in Substance Abuse Counseling is highly desired. Prefer a BS or MS in related field. AMFT’s and ASW’s are encouraged to apply.
- Excellent communications skills and interpersonal skills. Experience with Electronic Health Records and computer programs helpful.
- Evidence of being an effective team player.
- Must have experience with multicultural populations, crisis management, trauma informed care, and co-occurring disorders. Knowledge of women centered treatment a plus.
- Experience with Motivational Interviewing, CBT, ASAM & Drug Medi-Cal.
- Must be able to obtain background check clearance and drug test clearance.
Position may include day, swing, and weekend shifts.
Full-time time position will receive benefited (vacation, sick, holiday, medical and dental). Salary/Wage commensurate with experience, education, certification, or license.
