What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Adjustment Counselor - 1.0 FTE position at Bi-County Collaborative?
Position Summary:
The appropriate candidate will work as part of a team providing comprehensive special education services and accommodations to students from numerous school districts in the area. The therapeutic milieu is critical to the success of the programs and the candidate for this position will have numerous responsibilities to help develop, support, and maintain that culture. The clinical support team within BiCounty Collaborative includes doctoral-level psychologists, regular consultation from a child and adolescent psychiatrist, school adjustment counselors, BCBAs, and numerous special educators and support staff. The successful candidate will become an integral part of this clinical team and will be supported in their development throughout the school year.
Responsibilities:
- Plan for and conduct individual and small group counseling sessions
- Collaborate with other team members to plan and carry out weekly therapeutic groups
- Provide ongoing clinical support and guidance to students, teachers, and paraprofessionals
- Collaborate with families and outside providers to ensure that treatment plans are well-integrated across settings
- Participate in regular clinical meetings
- Engage in the IEP process including team meeting, goal development and progress monitoring
- Collect data and maintain records
- Other duties as assigned by Director of Clinical Services, Program Director or Executive Director
