What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Operator position at BI Production Works?
About the Role:
We are looking for a skilled Machine Operator with experience in CAM software to run laser and water jet production in our shop. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for programming and overseeing brake and shear part creation while ensuring precision and efficiency in daily operations. CAD experience is a plus but not required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and manage laser cutting and water jet machines for production runs.
- Program and adjust brake and shear machines for part creation.
- Oversee machine shop operations related to brake and shear production.
- Ensure quality control and adherence to specifications.
- Optimize machine settings for efficiency and material usage.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machines.
- Work closely with the production team to meet deadlines and project goals.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in CAM software for programming and machine operations.
- Experience with laser cutting and water jet machinery in a production setting.
- Ability to program and oversee brake and shear processes.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret technical drawings.
- Basic knowledge of CAD software (preferred but not required).
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to workplace safety and machine maintenance.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $16.48 per hour
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
