Injection Molding Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Mold Setter Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate has expertise with setting up the plastic injection molding equipment and molds for the production department. This role is crucial in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency. The Technician will work closely with other team members to support production goals and maintain a safe working environment.

Duties

• Safely install molds and remove them from the injection molding machines.
• Install necessary water lines, knockout bars, hydraulic lines, air lines, switches, hoppers, dryers, conveyors, and auxiliary equipment.
• Ensure new job start-ups run correctly, making any necessary adjustments. Work with production personnel to ensure molded parts meet requirements, make adjustments as necessary.
• Perform maintenance duties as needed.
• Handle materials safely and efficiently within the warehouse environment.
• Implement Lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency and reduce waste in production processes.
• Perform relief duties, fill in for other positions as required.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols at all times.

Qualifications

• Proven mold setter knowledge with hands-on experience.
• Follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must have mechanical aptitude and the ability to use hand and power tools.
• Ability for repeated bending, reaching, stooping, climbing, and lifting.
• Lift truck, rigging, and or crane operation experience. Forklift experience.
• Required to understand and safely operate/setup the injection molding machine.
• Fundamental knowledge of the different plastic materials and their processing.
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing practices is a plus.
• Ability to perform quality inspections with attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $33.00 per hour
