Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in immigration law and is bilingual. This role requires speaking with clients that are native Spanish and Portuguese speakers on a daily basis. The role also requires representing clients in immigration hearings most of which is done online at this time, but some travel for in person hearings might be required. The Attorney will be responsible for representing clients in legal matters, conducting thorough research, and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations while providing exceptional legal and customer service to our clients.
Duties
- Represent clients in legal proceedings, including litigation and negotiation.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using tools such as Lexis-Nexis.
- Draft and review legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and estate planning documents.
- Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients in various legal matters.
- Provide legal advice and guidance to clients regarding their rights and obligations.
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may affect clients' cases.
- Collaborate with other attorneys and staff within the law office to ensure effective case management.
Minimum Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to a state bar and active license to practice law (from any U.S. state).
- At least two year of experience with Immigration law.
- Strong skills in legal writing and drafting.
- Bilingual (Spanish or Portuguese preferred).
- Must be able to read and write in English and one more language.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple cases efficiently.
