Position Overview
We seek an experienced instructor to teach Public Speaking in our dual enrollment program, delivering college-level instruction to high school students pursuing collegiate credit.
Essential Responsibilities
- Design and implement curriculum aligned with Wesleyan College's academic standards
- Deliver engaging instruction in Public Speaking through traditional semester format
- Create detailed lesson plans incorporating diverse teaching methods
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance
- Provide regular, constructive feedback on student work
- Submit grades and required documentation by established deadlines
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree from an accredited institution in Communications, OR
- Master's degree with minimum 18 graduate credit hours in Communications
- Experience teaching at high school or college level
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Proficiency with educational technology and learning management systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching dual enrollment courses
- Familiarity with college readiness standards
- Knowledge of student success strategies for transitioning to college-level coursework
Compensation
- $1,500 course development stipend
