Position Overview

We seek an experienced instructor to teach Public Speaking in our dual enrollment program, delivering college-level  instruction to high school students pursuing collegiate credit.

 

Essential Responsibilities

· Design and implement curriculum aligned with Wesleyan College's academic standards

· Deliver engaging instruction in Public Speaking through traditional semester format

· Create detailed lesson plans incorporating diverse teaching methods

· Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance

· Provide regular, constructive feedback on student work

· Submit grades and required documentation by established deadlines

 

Required Qualifications

· Master's degree from an accredited institution in Communications, OR

· Master's degree with minimum 18 graduate credit hours in Communications

· Experience teaching at high school or college level

· Strong communication and classroom management skills

· Proficiency with educational technology and learning management systems

 

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience teaching dual enrollment courses

· Familiarity with college readiness standards

· Knowledge of student success strategies for transitioning to college-level coursework

 

Compensation

· $1,500 course development stipend
