Job Title: Theater Box Office Associate
Job Summary:
The Theater Box Office Associate plays a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring a seamless ticketing experience for our patrons. As the first point of contact for guests, this position requires a friendly demeanor, strong communication skills, and the ability to handle various transactions efficiently. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, capable of multitasking, and enthusiastic about the performing arts. This role is integral to the operational success of our theater, contributing to the overall visitor experience and fostering a welcoming atmosphere. Currently, we are seeking AM Box Office associates to work a shift around the 9 AM to 4 PM range Monday through Friday. Days and hours can vary depending on the candidates availability. This position may require some evenings, weekends, and holidays at certain points throughout the year if necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patrons as they arrive at the box office with a positive and courteous attitude.
- Sell tickets for performances, workshops, and special events using the theater's ticketing system.
_ Provide information on current and upcoming shows, including pricing, seating availability, and special promotions.
- Assist customers with the selection of seats, answering inquiries and resolving any issues related to ticket purchases.
- Process transactions, including cash, credit, and gift card payments, while ensuring accurate record-keeping.
- Handle ticket exchanges, refunds, and will-call orders according to theater policies.
- Performing cash and card transactions for our gift shop and concession stand as needed.
- Preparing/Making drinks at the concession stand as needed.
- Counting your cash drawer and preparing your cash drop at the end of your shift.
- Counting the gift shop and concessions cash drawers and preparing the cash drop at the end of your shift as needed.
- Filling out nightly/daily paperwork as needed.
- Maintain the box office area, ensuring it remains organized, clean, and welcoming.
- Collaborate with the front-of-house team to coordinate ticket sales and manage guest flow during performances.
- Stay informed about theater programming, policies, and health and safety protocols.
- Assist with other tasks pertaining to the theater as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and connect with diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in using point-of-sale systems; experience with theater box office software is a plus.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
