About the Role
The Assistant General Manager will work side by side with the Director of Operations to ensure exceptional service standards and operational excellence across all aspects of Bibliotheque. This includes refining and maintaining systems for inventory management, staff scheduling, event planning, and facility upkeep. The Assistant General Manager will also play a key role in supporting our vibrant mix of wine bar service, café operations, and bookstore offerings.
Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and mentor employees while promoting a warm, professional, and energetic work environment.
- Operational Oversight: Manage daily front- and back-of-house operations across the wine bar, café, and bookstore, including opening and closing managerial duties.
- Financial Management: Support budgeting efforts, monitor costs, and contribute to profit-and-loss reviews.
- Event Planning: Collaborate on public events and programming to enhance community engagement.
- Guest Relations: Ensure guest satisfaction by addressing feedback and maintaining high service standards.
- Inventory Coordination: Assist in maintaining adequate stock of dry goods, beverages, linens, and supplies.
- Marketing & PR: Assist with marketing strategies and promotional efforts to grow the business.
- Facility Maintenance: Ensure the space is clean, organized, and visually appealing.
- Staff Recruitment and Development: Actively participate in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training of all new staff members. This includes collaborating with the Director of Operations on hiring decisions and ensuring all new hires are properly onboarded and trained to meet our service standards.
