Since 1900, Bichler Concrete & Gravel has been a leading supplier of concrete and aggregate product in Escanaba, MI and the surrounding areas. Aggregate from Bichler’s quarry was used to construct many of the foundations of historic Escanaba buildings and we are proud to still be serving the community to this day.

We are seeking a full-time seasonal precast division employee to enhance our team for the eventful summer months.

Job Summary:

· Full-time seasonal position (typically start in May and work until December)

· 40 hour work weeks

· Work schedule is Monday through Friday (7:00 AM ET to 5 PM ET) and Saturdays (7 AM ET to 12:00 PM ET)

· Overtime opportunities are frequently available

· Starting wage is $17.00 per hour (based on experience)

Job Duties:

· Assist in precast operations including production, quality control, operation of equipment, and maintenance

· Prepare forms for concrete pouring

· Pour concrete into forms at specified thickness, install rebar or other strength additives, and adhere to quality policies

· Properly finish concrete products

· Prepare products for shipment and assist in loading & unloading

· Assist loading customers with various product pickups such as septic tank accessories, rebar, drain field pipe, sonotubes, and various other products from the shop building

· Safely operate equipment such as a skid steer, forklift, various saws, and sanders at all times

· Adhere to all rules and regulations put forth by Bichler, the Department of Transportation (DOT), the Mine Safety & Health Administration (MSHA), and Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA)

· Work as a member of a team with other employees

· Operate handheld radios to communicate with other employees

· Complete maintenance inspections of company equipment

· Maintain a clean and organized workspace

· Perform any other job duties assigned by management

Qualifications:

· Possess a valid Driver’s License

· Ability to pass random drug screening after hire

· Must be able to follow safety procedures

· Ability to work with a team, communicate effectively, and adhere to instructions

· Must be detail-orientated and have good time management

· Ability to lift, carry, and move 50 pounds

· Concrete industry or carpentry experience preferred
