Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Paralegal Assistant to join our law office. Duties
- Assist attorneys in preparing for litigation by organizing case files and gathering necessary documents.
- File legal documents with courts and other relevant agencies in a timely manner.
- Transcribe legal documents and correspondence as required.
- Perform data entry tasks to maintain accurate records within document management systems.
- Proofread legal documents for accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
- Conduct interviews with clients to gather information pertinent to their cases.
- Utilize Westlaw for legal research and case law analysis.
- Maintain an organized filing system for easy retrieval of documents and information.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow within the office.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree or higher in Paralegal Studies or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in a law office setting is highly desirable, particularly in immigration law.
- Proficiency in document management systems and legal research tools such as Westlaw.
- Strong skills in data entry, proofreading, and transcribing documents accurately.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to conduct client interviews professionally.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality in all matters.
