Mill Team Lead, 2nd Shift
Biewer Sawmill, Inc. is looking to add a full-time Mill Team Lead to
our team in McBain, MI. This position will fill in/work beside the Mill
Supervisor. Organize and manage the efficient production of high-
quality green lumber from the Mill and direct and supervise
employees within the department.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 3:45 pm-3:00 am
Accountabilities:
Primary responsibilities will include:
- Coordinate and update the production schedule by ensuring
necessary communication with the forestry supervisor and
adjusting needed input/demands from sales.
- Recommends the need for additional staffing or production
hours given by demand.
- Provide production reports for administrative data entry, and
maintains recovery and downtime data.
- Conducts physical inventory of lumber as needed.
- Fulfilling duties during the shift, post-shift, and during downtime to
make sure production needs are being met.
- Ensure the Mill Department is stocked with appropriate supplies
such as banding, runners, etc.
- 3-5 Years of Experience Required
- High school diploma or equivalent Required
- Ability to speak effectively and professionally to customers or
employees of an organization.
- Must be able to climb and descend a flight of stairs several
times during the day. The majority of functions are performed
while standing and walking on concrete or asphalt.
