Position Overview
A Laborer is responsible for tasks general manufacturing tasks, such as cleaning production floors, arranging tools, turning equipment on and off, and assembling Dunnage material to Material Handling Racks.

Essential Job Functions
- General laborers clean and lubricate equipment.
- Keep manufacturing areas free of debris and dirt and set out or put away tools.
- They follow instructions from more experienced employees to operate machines, hold or supply materials and tools, and load and unload items from machines and assembly lines.
- They also locate parts, tag them with identifying text and numbers, and record information such as gauge readings, products produced and manufacturing times.
- If they locate defective products or observe equipment malfunctions, helpers must report the problems to higher-level employees, and if necessary, assist with any fixes.
Skills
- Listen attentively and then use their speaking skills to ask questions or explain what they are doing.
- They need the manual dexterity to use tools and factory machines
- Physical strength to lift and move heavy equipment
- Stamina to remain on their feet for most of their shift
- Time management is helpful in organizing work and finishing it on schedule, because laborers may have to complete several tasks in one shift.
- Because they work in teams under supervisors, laborers also need good interpersonal skills.
Abilities
- Lift, carry, push and or pull items frequently.
- Squat/kneel, bend/stoop, twist/turn, grasp and reach overhead and outward frequently.
- Sit, stand and walk for 1-10 hours per day.
- Work in a fast-paced industrial environment wearing hearing protection, and vision protection.
