What are the responsibilities and job description for the Internal Auditor position at Big 5 Sporting Goods?
Internal Audit seeks an Internal Auditor with a strong work ethic and excellent professional skills to join our team. This professional will perform internal audit work under the direction of the internal audit team.
Responsibilities
- Perform audit procedures; test processes and related controls for Sarbanes-Oxley and operational review audits.
- Assist audit team in quarterly review, interim and year-end audit procedures.
- Perform interviews with management for SOX and operational reviews.
- Assist in management’s quarterly SOX 302 certification process.
- Identify and report clear, logical, and concise findings based on the audit assignments, and help develop recommendations based on findings.
- Document process flows related to SOX and operational reviews.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have the following skill sets:
- BA/BS in Accounting or Finance.
- Ability to interface effectively with management.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Working towards professional certification (CPA, CIA, and/or CISA).
In addition, the following qualifications will be considered a plus:
- Retail experience.
- SOX experience.
- An operational background.
- JD Edwards accounting system experience.
Pay Scale: $24.03-$33.65/ per hour
Salary : $24 - $34
