Call Taker/Dispatcher
New opening with a local growing service business. This position will be located in our new Eureka office and will be 40 hours per week with a training work schedule of Monday-Friday 9a-5p during training. After training, there will be an adjustment to the weekly schedule to accommodate weekend help.
We are a towing company that operates 24/7/365. This job supports our towing, impound, emergency response, and breakdown services, and as a result there are pressure points and challenges that require a person able to make multiple correct decisions under pressure.
Position Overview: The Emergency Dispatch Coordinator is responsible for handling urgent or immediate towing and recovery requests. This role involves quick decision-making and prioritizing tasks to ensure timely service for high-priority calls. The Dispatch Coordinator will communicate directly with drivers and other departments to resolve emergency situations efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to emergency calls and assess the urgency of each situation.
- Dispatch drivers to high-priority jobs, ensuring they are equipped and ready for immediate response.
- Coordinate with local authorities and other service providers when necessary.
- Monitor ongoing jobs to ensure timely execution and resolve any issues that arise during the process.
- Monitor the update job statuses in the system and provide real-time information to all relevant parties.
- Maintain a clear line of communication with drivers to support their needs on the job.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Strong decision-making skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to stay calm under pressure.
- Knowledge of towing operations and emergency response protocols preferred.
- Ability to use dispatching software and technology to track and manage jobs.
