Position Overview

BBBSBG is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Fundraising and Development Director to lead our organization’s fundraising efforts. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, this key leadership position will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to ensure the organization’s financial sustainability. The ideal candidate will cultivate donor relationships, manage fundraising initiatives, and establish a strong development infrastructure to support long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities

Donor Relations & Giving:

• Develop and implement strategies to grow a sustainable base of individual and corporate donors
• Align donor interests with BBBSBG’s mission and impact to maximize engagement and investment
• Oversee annual giving programs, including online giving campaigns and direct mail appeals
• Manage Bloomerang and other donor management software to track donations, pledges, and donor engagement
• Lead donor stewardship efforts, ensuring regular communication, appreciation, and relationship-building activities
• Foster a culture of philanthropy across the organization, promoting donor education and appreciation

Fundraising Events:

• Collaborate with the Community Engagement and Marketing Director to plan and execute special events and fundraising initiatives
• Secure corporate sponsorships and manage sponsor relationships
• Oversee event logistics and post-event donor stewardship efforts

Leadership & Strategic Planning:

• Develop and implement an annual development plan aligned with organizational goals
• Track and report fundraising performance to the Executive Director and Board of Directors
• Participate in Board meetings and committees as needed
• Work cross-functionally with program and community engagement teams to integrate fundraising efforts with organizational activities

Grant Writing & Management (in collaboration with the Executive Director):

• Research, prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals to public and private funders
• Ensure compliance with grant reporting requirements
• Identify and evaluate prospective funding sources, including foundations, corporations, and public grants

Qualifications & Experience:

• Proven track record of successfully achieving fundraising goals in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization
• Strong ability to adapt to evolving fundraising priorities and secure new funding sources
• Experience cultivating and maintaining donor relationships, including major gifts and corporate sponsorships

Preferred Skills & Competencies:

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Strong commitment to BBBSBG’s mission and values
• Proficiency in fundraising and donor management software, such as Bloomerang, as well as AI Tools, Microsoft Office and Google Apps
• Familiarity with grant research platforms like Guidestar

Salary: $65,000-$70,000

Salary based on fundraising experience. This is an in-office position with one (1) work from home day available each week, to be agreed upon with the supervisor.
