Position Overview:
The Mentor Manager is responsible for cultivating and creating successful mentoring matches within the community, while promoting Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast as the nonprofit agency of choice for volunteering and supporting youth. This position offers the opportunity to directly impact the lives of young people in Naples, Immokalee, and other parts of Collier County through effective program management, volunteer coordination, and community outreach.
What You’ll Do:
- Manage a caseload, including conducting interviews and assessments to match Bigs and Littles.
- Coordinate and execute program events such as recognition celebrations, holiday parties, back-to-school events, and mixers.
- Provide crisis counseling referrals and manage case documentation per agency protocols.
- Regularly review match progress with clients, parents, and volunteers, adjusting plans as needed.
- Ensure smooth transitions between program functions, offering support as needed to other staff members.
- Support the recruitment of new mentors and youth participants through outreach activities.
- Liaise with community stakeholders, including school districts, United Way, Chamber of Commerce, and local government organizations.
- Maintain a diverse, inclusive, and positive agency culture in all activities and interactions.
Qualifications for this exciting role:
- Bachelor’s degree in social or human services, education, or a related field; or a combination of education and experience; or 4 years of relevant work experience in a similar field.
- Ideal candidate should reside in Collier County to best serve the local community.
- Ability to fluently communicate in Spanish and or Creole is a plus.
- Must have dependable transportation as offsite meetings and activities are common.
