What are the responsibilities and job description for the Merch Coordinator, eCommerce position at Big Lots?
Partners with vendors and the buying team to accurately and efficiently collect product content for sale in the company’s stores. Maintains effective relationships with vendors from all merchandise categories. Liaisons with the product content team to ensure products go live on BigLots.com by the assigned Set Date.
1. Collects an assortment of samples, imagery, and attributes for all merchandise categories.
2. Uses the sample management tool to request and track samples.
3. Proactively prioritizes product content needs by sku, category and program as needed.
4. Develops strong relationships with buyers, merchandise coordinators, and vendors to completely and accurately collect necessary product information.
5. Submits vendor imagery to the digital asset management tool.
6. Communicates urgent needs to appropriate cross functional partners, external partners, and manager.
7. Develops vendor performance metrics and effectively communicates issues to internal partners to help resolve collection issues.
8. Organizes and tracks progress daily to meet Set Date needs.
9. Works with eCommerce Product Content team members to resolve product content discrepancies and to gather additional information to enhance the online experience.
10. Collaborates with internal partners to ensure a smooth workflow process.
Qualification
1. High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelors' degree in Business Administration or a related field preferred.
2. Merchandising and vendor relations experience preferred.
3. Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills required.
4. Strong attention to detail, problem solving, analytical, and methodical thinking skills required.
5. Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.) and email required.
6. Excellent customer service skills and ability to project a professional image required.
7. Skill in building and maintaining solid working relationships with business partners and other team members required.
8. Able to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast paced environment while delivering quality results and meeting deadlines required.
9. Able to work under general supervision and make independent decisions within guidelines required.
