Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Estimator to join our growing home repair, renovation, and residential services company in Orlando, Florida. This role is integral to our success, as you will be responsible for preparing timely, accurate, and competitive work and pricing estimates for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general home renovation projects. The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to assess project requirements on-site effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

Estimating and Proposal Development:

• Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for residential repair, renovation, and installation projects, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general home services.
• Review project scopes, blueprints, specifications, and customer requirements to calculate labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs.
• Generate clear and professional proposals for presentation to clients.

Site Visits and Assessments:

• Visit job sites and customer residences to evaluate the work required, ensuring an accurate understanding of the project scope.
• Identify challenges, potential risks, and site-specific considerations to factor into estimates.
• Communicate effectively with homeowners, contractors, and project managers to gather necessary information.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Work closely with the sales team to provide support during the customer decision-making process.
• Collaborate with project managers and service technicians to ensure accurate job planning and cost allocation.
• Act as a resource for technical questions from clients and internal teams.

Tracking and Reporting:

• Maintain a record of all estimates, bids, and revisions using company tools or CRM software.
• Provide regular reporting on estimate accuracy and conversion rates, identifying areas for improvement.
• Stay informed of industry trends, material costs, and pricing changes to adjust estimates accordingly.

Qualifications:

Experience:

• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in estimating within the home repair, renovation, or construction industry.
• Hands-on experience in at least one of the following trades: HVAC, plumbing, or electrical services.

Technical Skills:

• Strong understanding of residential construction and repair processes.
• Proficiency in estimating software and tools (e.g., Buildertrend, JobNimbus, or similar).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and project documentation.

Soft Skills:

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to explain technical details to customers and team members.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Other Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for site visits.
• Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with the team.
• Knowledge of local building codes and regulations is a plus.
