Accountant

Job Summary:

The accountant is a finance professional who manages financial transactions, statements and records. Their position is to assist senior financial management and aid in the overall efficiency of the accounting department. Financial transactions include but are not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management. They must be able to run and review financial statements as requested by senior management, communicate effectively with all members of the RG King Companies, and maintain a high standard of business ethics.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

·        Accounts Receivable

·        Accounts Payable

·        Cash Management

·        Fixed Asset Management

·        Posts journal entries to general ledger

·        Intercompany review

·        Proof accounting reports for clerical accuracy

·        Performs other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

An accountant must possess a combination of hard and soft skills, along with accounting-specific skills as outlined below:

·        Hard Skills: Competency with numbers, General business knowledge, Data entry, Data analysis, Problem-solving and critical thinking, and Computer and accounting software proficiency.

·        Soft Skills: Attention to detail, Confidentiality, Strong time management, Accuracy, Organization, Written and verbal communication, Teamwork, and Ethical conduct.

·        Accounting-Specific Skills: Manage accounts payable and receivable, create reports, Read and understand financials, apply accounting principles, and Reconcile accounts

Education and Experience:

·        Bachelor’s degree in finance or equivalent experience in related field

·        Construction experience preferred

·        Desire for continued education for advanced financial knowledge and skills

Physical Requirements:

·        While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.

·        Ability to sit at a computer for an extended period

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
• Must be able to lift 10lbs.
• Must be able to work the hours necessary in order to achieve the goals of the company.
