What are the responsibilities and job description for the City Oyster Sushi Chef position at Big Time Restaurant Group?
City Oyster and Sushi Bar in Delray Beach is looking for a Sushi Cook to join our fast-paced, high volume location!
APPLY ON SITE MONDAY-FRIDAY 2PM-5PM AND ASK FOR CHEF JORDAN OR A CHEF ON DUTY! PAY $18-$22 BASED ON EXPERIENCE!
We are currently searching for candidates with at least 1 year of sushi experience!
MUST be able to work weekends!

Specific Task and Duties:
-Prepare all types of sushi, including maki, nigiri and sashimi
-Select fresh fruits and vegetables to make high-quality dishes (like avocado, mango and carrots)
-Add additional flavors to sushi rolls with ginger, rice vinegar, wasabi and soy sauce, when appropriate
-Manage food prep activities, like boiling rice
-Follow recipes
-Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef’s instructions
-Maintain hygiene principles in all cooking areas and clean your space at the end of the shift
-Ensure that all food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
-Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
Requirements and skills
-Work experience as a Sushi Cook or at an Asian restaurant
-Good knowledge of various sushi types and sushi-rolling techniques
-Ability to work both fast and accurately
-Availability to work during business hours, including weekends and evenings
Physical Requirements:
- Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms, legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials. Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs
