Highlands Garden Center, Indoor Sales (Seasonal Only)
Salary Range: $16.00 to $18.50 per hour. Based on experience
Overview: The primary focus of the Garden Center Indoor Sales position is assisting customers with their questions and purchases. The Garden Center Indoor Sales position also assists in ensuring a positive shopping experience for customers and takes an active role in stocking, inventory and store cleanliness. This position reports directly to the Garden Center Manager and Garden Center Supervisor.
Essential Job Functions:
• Customer Service; e.g. answering customer inquiries and assisting in helping customers make the appropriate buying decision.
• Able to problem solve and suggest the appropriate course of action.
• Respond to radio and store pages.
• Perform routine product inventory.
• Assist in maintaining organization throughout the garden center; e.g. pulling product forward on shelves, ensuring merchandise is priced correctly and returning tools, ladders and cleaning supplies to their proper place.
Position Requirements:
• Able to follow specific instructions and perform duties given by the Garden Center Manager and Supervisor.
• Skill in establishing priorities and managing both workload and time wisely.
• Able to communicate respectfully with coworkers and customers.

Minimum Education Requirements:
• High School diploma or equivalent.
Minimum Experience Requirements:
• Experience working with the public.
Physical Activities:
• Ability to work on feet (for long periods of time) in a hot and humid environment.
• Able to frequently push or pull moderately heavy objects. (50-100 lbs)
Work Environment:
• Hot, dry, wet, and cold.
• Potential exposure to slippery surfaces and allergy irritants.
