Position Summary
The Food Pantry Coordinator will assist in the day to day operations of the pantry. The coordinator will be responsible for scheduling food supply picks ups, deliveries, and scheduling operating days and times of food pick up.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Coordinate pick up and or drop off of food orders
- Sort, package, and stock food supply
- Purchase and or order food pantry supplies
- Assist in training community volunteers to work at the food pantry
- Ensure maintenance and cleanliness of the food pantry
- Greet food pantry clients and assist with receiving food supplies
- Provide information to visitors and clients
- Complete client intake information
- Represent Big Valley Rancheria at local community meetings and/or events.
- Always maintain confidentiality of information.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Experience working with Tribal Families.
- Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills.
- Must have the ability to maintain a cooperative, diplomatic working relationship with co‐workers, supervisors, families, and the community.
- Must demonstrate flexibility in work settings, maturity of judgment and ability to work well with others.
- Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office.
- Must have valid CA. Driver’s License
- Must have a High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Other Requirements
- Preference in hiring is given to qualified American Indians in accordance with the Indian Preference Act (Title 25 U.S. Code, § 472 and 473). Applicants claiming Indian preference must submit verification by Tribe of affiliation or other acceptable documentation of Tribal Enrollment.
- Work involves periods of sitting, walking, bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities, and lifting of moderately heavy items, up to 75 lbs.
- Must be able to satisfactorily complete a background check and a pre-employment screening.
