Luma & Leaf is seeking a dynamic and strategic Operations Manager to oversee our end-to-end operations, from supply chain and manufacturing to regulatory compliance and sustainability. This role is pivotal in scaling our operations, optimizing processes, and ensuring seamless cross-functional collaboration to support our growing skincare brand.
The Operations Manager will work closely with vendors, manufacturers, and internal teams to enhance efficiencies, maintain quality standards, and uphold compliance with industry regulations. The ideal candidate is an operational problem solver, highly organized, and an excellent communicator with experience in supply chain management, manufacturing oversight, and regulatory compliance.
This position reports to the CEO and plays a key role in Luma & Leaf’s continued success.
Key Responsibilities
Supply Chain & Inventory Management
Oversee and optimize supply chain processes, ensuring efficient inventory management to meet demand and prevent stockouts.
Partner with suppliers and manufacturers to negotiate contracts, reduce costs, and improve lead times.
Monitor and analyze inventory levels, order fulfillment, and warehouse operations to drive efficiency.
Collaborate with the team to forecast demand, track expenses, and manage budgets.
Manufacturing & Quality Assurance Oversight
Manage manufacturing partners to ensure high-quality production that aligns with brand standards and sustainability goals.
Implement and oversee QA protocols for packaging and product formulation, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and retailer requirements.
Troubleshoot production and fulfillment challenges, working proactively with suppliers and internal teams.
Operational Efficiency & Scalability
Identify opportunities for operational improvements and implement scalable solutions as the brand expands.
Analyze workflows, bottlenecks, and logistics to streamline operations and enhance productivity.
Lead process improvement initiatives, incorporating technology and automation where applicable.
Cross-Department Collaboration & Communication
Serve as the primary operations liaison between Product Development, Marketing, Sales, and Finance.
Work closely with the Creative team to coordinate packaging, labeling, and regulatory compliance for new and existing products.
Collaborate with retail and e-commerce teams to ensure seamless product launches and fulfillment across all channels.
Regulatory & Sustainability Compliance
Ensure all products meet FDA, EU, and global regulatory requirements, staying ahead of evolving industry standards.
Implement and maintain sustainability initiatives in packaging, production, and logistics.
Oversee certifications, product testing, and claims verification to ensure full compliance and transparency.
Qualifications & Experience
5 years of experience in operations, supply chain, or manufacturing within the skincare, beauty, or CPG industry.
Proven track record of scaling operations and improving efficiencies in a fast-growing brand.
Strong project management skills, with experience overseeing vendor relationships and product fulfillment.
Excellent negotiation and problem-solving abilities to address supply chain and operational challenges.
Deep understanding of quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and sustainability best practices.
Experience with e-commerce platforms, fulfillment tools, and inventory management systems (e.g., Shopify, ShipStation, ClickUp, Freightos).
Ability to work independently and cross-functionally, balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Requirements
Willingness to travel for on-site vendor visits, trade shows, and manufacturing audits.
Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours to coordinate with global partners.
