Job Title: Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
Location: New York City (Hybrid/Onsite preferred)
Role Overview:
As the CTO, you will be the technology leader leading innovation for the studio, playing a pivotal role in shaping the products architecture, development strategy, and execution of at least two digital health products from the ground up. You will be involved hands-on in coding, coding reviews, architecting, estimating, and guiding product engineering decisions. And, evaluating ways to include AI and Gen. AI ( LLMs) into the products.
You’ll work closely with product and design teams to bring concepts to life, while also building and mentoring high-performing engineering teams. Your deep healthcare tech and digital health background will help ensure we’re building scalable, compliant, and impactful solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical vision, architecture, and execution of multiple healthcare and digital health technology products
- Be hands-on in solution architecture, estimating, application development, prototyping, and building MVPs
- Own technical estimating, sprint planning, and feature delivery timelines
- Collaborate with product managers and designers to turn concepts into real, scalable software
- Build and grow a talented engineering team (in-house and contractors)
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards (HIPAA, HL7/FHIR, etc.)
- Contribute to product strategy, roadmap, and go-to-market planning
- Evaluate and implement best-in-class tools, frameworks, and DevOps practices
- Build secure, performant, and scalable systems in cloud environments (preferably AWS or Azure)
Requirements:
- 10 years of experience in software engineering, with 3 years in a technical leadership or CTO role
- Strong experience in application development, architecture design, and hands-on coding
- Proven track record of building and launching digital health products
- Deep understanding of healthcare provider workflows and systems
- Experience working with or building solutions for skilled nursing facilities (a plus)
- Previous experience with EMR/EHR systems (a strong plus)
- Familiarity with healthcare data standards (FHIR, HL7, CDA, etc.)
- Startup/Venture Studio experience preferred – must be comfortable with ambiguity and speed
- Excellent communication and team leadership skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
