Our client is a 100 bed hospital and is part of one of the largest and most successful hospitals in the United States, with over 40 hospitals in over 11 states.
They are looking for a strong lab executive to run one and possibly two campuses for the system!
Job description / Responsibilities : Director designation may oversee multiple facilities and / or other clinical departments. Director of Laboratory Services is responsible for the overall management of assigned department including, administrative, financial, compliance, quality improvement, technical, and personnel activities in accordance with established hospital and department policies and standards. Takes on special projects or other assignments and completes them within timeframe. . Meet and consult with Corporate Director of Laboratory Services for policies, procedures, forms, instrumentation, equipment, supplies, and LIS. Promotes standardization throughout the system. Ensure laboratory compliance with the performance standards set forth by corporate management for laboratory scorecards and regulatory agencies.
Required Qualification :
- Starting April 2014, Master in Business Administration (MBA) degree preferred
- Preferred ASCP or AMT Certification in Medical Technology.
- Meeting qualification as Technical Supervisor pursuant to CLIA regulations Subpart M Personnel for Non-waived Testing, sections 493.1423, and 493.1489, and must possess a degree of skill commensurate with individual’s education, training or experience and technical abilities
- Knowledge and skills of laboratory accreditation standards, laboratory computer system (LIS), budgeting, general accounting, power point, general statistics, spreadsheet analysis, word processing, business analysis, quality assurance and management system required.
- Knowledge and skills in public communication, public speaking, change management, team building, quality performance tools, quality control and preventive action with root cause analysis.
- Per state requirement, possession of a current and valid Clinical Laboratory Scientist license (generalist). Required in the state of CA, NY, FL, and NV.
- Minimum 5 years supervisory clinical laboratory experience required.
- Starting in January 2013 for all new hires, Bachelor’s Degree required, in Medical Technology or related scientific field.
