Jr. Estimator (Industrial Construction)

Job Description :

This position will require, but not be limited to, the following duties :

Assist with the development of detailed cost estimates for industrial construction projects including civil, structural and mechanical project scope.

Attend client pre-bid meetings at project locations nationally take detailed notes and ask appropriate questions.

Work with estimating teams for the development project execution plans and schedules including defining work tasks, sequences and schedule durations.

Perform accurate bid quantity take-offs.

Solicit subcontractors and suppliers for competitive pricing.

Assist the senior estimator as needed in preparation for bid reviews.

Coordinate with other internal departments including safety, quality, procurement and human resources for consideration in costs related to specific project scope.

Job Requirements

Position reports to corporate office in Deer Park, TX.

Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a professional environment, preferably construction related.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Ability to read construction drawings and technical specifications.

Good mathematical skills in geometry and algebra.

Ability to multitask, prioritize and meet estimating deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or similar field.

Must be able to travel.
