Position Overview:
The Safety Manager is responsible for providing overall day-to-day safety supervision on a large-scale chemical, new construction, manufacturing facility, and managing the company’s safety program, safety culture, policies, and procedures. They are responsible for training employees and subcontractors in accordance with client, state, federal, and OSHA regulations and fostering a safe work environment. This role may have direct reports.
Company Overview:
Bilfinger Industrial Services, known as a leading one stop, shop provider for complex industrial services is seeking a Safety Manager – Entry Level at our Alexandria, LA site location. This position requires a self-motivated individual to assist with the site’s Environmental, Health and Safety Plan in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Train appropriate site personnel on the site’s current safety practices and policies.
- Initiate and monitor new job safety procedures and programs as the work may dictate.
- Must have working knowledge of OSHA regulations to ensure compliance with Federal, State, Local and Client regulations.
- The ideal candidate must possess a background in Occupational Safety and Health or other safety related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, time management, organization and computer skills are required.
Qualifications:
- 6 years’ experience in the construction industry with a commercial or industrial general contractor, or in the oil/gas industry preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of construction and engineering means and methods
- Experience managing safety inspections, safety and accident prevention plans, substance abuse programs, Stop Work Authority program, and incident/accident investigations.

Certifications:
· Safety relevant certifications required OSHA 500/510/CHST/CSST
· Train-the-Trainer Certification in MEWP and Powered Industrial Trucks
