Responsible to contribute to the growth and profitability of Billings Clinic by professionally managing services and activities for multiple ancillary service lines and for strategic planning and administration of Billings Clinic. Establishes plans, directs, coordinates, and maintains all standards of practices and operating policies for ancillary departments, and evaluates the services across the continuum of care to improve quality care and the utilization of staff resources. Responsible to drive, support and model a service-oriented culture focused on employee satisfaction, quality, patient safety, service excellence, fiscal responsibility, and the overall patient experience. Areas of responsibility may include pharmacy services, radiology/medical imaging, laboratory, design and construction, facilities management, security, inpatient therapies (PT, OT, speech), dieticians, hospital respiratory services, hyperbaric medicine, EVS and food & nutrition services.
Essential Job Functions
• Develops, implements and assists in the advancement of the mission, vision, and values of Billings Clinic establishing a vision of excellence with a customer service orientation and demonstrated quality outcomes. Participates in establishing philosophy and culture of Billings Clinic. Leads groups through strategic planning sessions and motivates team to execute strategic objectives.
• Develops a plan of care, establishes goals proactively with key stakeholders, monitors progress, address challenges, and completes work timely, is progressive in attitude and action and follows through on set plans.
• Ensures the success and credibility of Billings Clinic through the delivery of innovative, quality, cost efficient programs. Leads the administration and ongoing refinement of comprehensive programs, including well defined protocols, policies and procedures assuring high quality standards and the cost effective delivery of the appropriate level of care in the appropriate care delivery setting. Assures the highest standard of clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, and responsive/accessible customer service. Provides consultation services for community and health care providers.
• Responsible to build strong relationships with key shared services partners, strategic partners, physicians and co-workers to achieve the expectations and key objectives identified.
• Develops, coordinates, and manages operating systems and operational standardization, service standards, approaches, and policies across the organization.
• Leads ancillary services in the overall marketing, program development, and service priorities. Coordinates with key stake holders to assure continuity in pursing system goals and synergy in implementing plans. Identifies and addresses synergies/problems across the services, within the community and across the regional service area. Communicates relevant developments to staff.
• Oversees the operational and strategic functions of assigned ancillary service departments. Engages in business development, strategic analysis of new services, and activities that grow business in the ancillary service lines.
Supports and facilitates integration of services between departments within the hospital, clinic, long term care, community and region.
• Develops/maintains financial and budgetary goals/objectives and oversees/assists with the development of departmental business plans which support Billings Clinic mission, vision, values. Communicates and coordinates corporate and administrative information for use by Billings Clinic leadership and governing bodies, including feasibilities, projections, and results reporting.
• Directs the appropriate utilization of organization’s resources.
• Assesses and analyzes appropriate client, clinical and/or financial information and/or other cost/benefit analysis to assist with business evaluation and planning.
• Works to meet and exceed budget through optimizing and maximizing revenue streams and effectively managing expenses.
• Ensure resources are utilized responsibly, monitors operating budget throughout the year and makes decisions regarding priorities of capital needs.
• Practice process improvement principles and oversees assessment and improvement of the quality of the service and patient care provided. Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental, and outside agency safety standards relevant to services provided and ensures compliance.
• Assures appropriate level of understanding, awareness and compliance with all applicable federal, state and agency laws, regulations, guidelines and professional standards of practice.
• Works with support services, such as Operational Excellence, Risk Management, and Quality to develop systems and quality improvement programs to ensure a culture of accountability, patient safety, quality and value.
• Supports research and assures evidence based practice in the delivery of services in assigned areas of responsibility.
• Aligns patient satisfaction measurement and improvement program with organizational goals

• Develops, retains, recruits, and leads a talented management team committed to accomplishing the goals and objectives of Billings Clinic. Takes responsibility for own professional growth and development needs; meets all system educational requirements.
• Works with leadership team to identify, recruit, and hire staff to provide and support ancillary services
• Responsible for assuring appropriate management practices, maintenance of appropriate staffing levels competency assessment, staff orientation, ongoing education and development in all areas of responsibility.
• Establishes culture and standards; participates, fosters, demonstrates and encourages an ethic of open communication and teamwork throughout the organization and in the community. Minimum Qualifications
Education
• Graduate Degree: Master's Degree in a related field.
Experience
• 3 years of senior level operations management/leadership experience, preferably in an integrated health care delivery system.
• 2 years of successful experience managing multiple departments/service lines.
Certifications and Licenses
• MT Driver License or ability to obtain one at hire and ability to be insured to operate organization vehicles.
