Job Summary
The Housekeeping Supervisor will provide leadership for staff and requires an individual interested in providing excellent guest service and professionalism. Supervisors will motivate, coach and develop associates using a consistent, approachable demeanor; handle escalated guest service recovery issues; and will provide general administrative assistance and support to staff and leadership. In addition, Supervisors will coordinate scheduling and breaks, maintain paperwork/reporting, cover duties for staff as needed, and perform other tasks as assigned.
Essential Job Duties
1. Maintain room cleanliness standards on a daily basis, by generating daily staff room inspections and training associates according to results.
2. Manage and oversee clean and orderly hallways and storage areas.
3. Provide employees with the proper supplies needed to perform their duties.
4. Assist with performance management and hiring, training, and evaluation of staff.
5. Work cohesively with co-workers as part of an effective team.
6. Provides final inspection of guest rooms before guest check-ins.
7. Follow through and insure guest requests and satisfaction.
8. Strive to maintain personal, staff and guest safety and security at all times.
9. Perform duties of Housekeeping Services or Room Attendant as requested.
10. Handle escalated guest service inquiries/requests/issues.
Qualifications
1. High school diploma required. Additional education, training and/or certification(s) preferred.
2. At least two (2) years of related hospitality experience, including some hotel experience.
3. Demonstrated commitment to delivering world class internal/external guest service, and proven leadership skills; must be able to motivate staff/team.
4. Outstanding interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills; must be able to interact professionally with a wide variety of guests. Second language a plus.
5. Proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook; can quickly learn Biltmore's systems, products, and procedures.
6. Proactive and exercises good judgment; can creatively problem solve/troubleshoot; must be able to handle variety of guest service situations consistent with standards.
7. Excellent organizational skills; can prioritize and multi-task, and adapt as needed.
Physical Requirements
. Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
2. Must be able to stand/walk majority of the time.
3. Frequent pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, and reaching.
4. May be exposed to dust, dirt, fumes, chemicals, fluids, and/or other particulates.
