We are seeking a highly organized and results-driven Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our “family of businesses” with Fire Storm & Bin There Dump That! The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of logistics, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. As the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing the moving teams, dumpster drivers, junk removal teams, portable storage operations, optimizing processes, and ensuring the successful execution of all moving projects. Your role will be crucial in maintaining our reputation for reliability and professionalism. You will work with the owner and office manager to assure each daily task is completed.

Operational Management
· Ensure all vehicles and equipment are maintained, inspected, and compliant with safety regulations.
· Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to improve service quality.
· Insure the shop is stocked with supplies and organized.
· Mechanical knowledge is required, as basic inspection and service of company vehicles will be expected.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Daily Operations: Oversee and coordinate all aspects of moving operations from moves, junk removal, portable storage, to overseeing our dumpster drivers including logistics, and resource allocation to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery.
- Team Leadership: Lead, train, and motivate the moving/driving teams, ensuring high levels of performance, safety, and customer satisfaction. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback. You will be on moves with your team and assist when needed to ensure our standards are being met.
- Team Player: Jump in on moves, junk removal, pod deliveries/pick-ups, and dumpster deliveries in the event a crew member calls off and you are unable to find a replacement. Be willing to lead by example. Example: if we promise 4 movers, then it will be your responsibility to assure that the customer receives what they paid for. If we promise a contractor a dumpster today, you will need to deliver the dumpster.
- Customer Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, addressing any issues or concerns promptly and professionally. Ensure all customer needs are met and that service delivery exceeds expectations. You will be working closely with the office and marketing teams.
- Logistics Coordination: Plan and optimize routes with the office manager, manage fleet maintenance, and ensure all equipment and vehicles are in good working condition. Coordinate the allocation of resources to meet job requirements.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for operational improvement and implement strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall service quality.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure all operations comply with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies. Conduct regular safety training and audits.
- Inventory Management: Oversee the inventory of Portable Storage Units, Moving Equipment, Dumpsters, and Supplies. Ensure that stock levels are maintained and that all materials are available as needed.
- Budgeting and Cost Control: Assist in the development of operational budgets and monitor expenses to ensure cost-effective operations. Identify opportunities to reduce costs without compromising service quality.
- Reporting and Analysis: Maintain accurate records of all operations, including job completion reports, incident logs, and customer feedback. Analyze data to identify trends and make informed decisions.
- Customer Relationships: Serving as the primary point of contact on-site for customers You will be providing quotes, addressing customers’ questions, and addressing any issues or concerns promptly and professionally. Ensure all customer needs are met and that service delivery exceeds expectations.
- Marketing: Identify opportunities to build new customer relationships. Networking with the intent and goal to grow the customer base and establish more ongoing business for the company.
- Vendor Management: Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, contractors, and other external partners to ensure reliable service and competitive pricing.
- Leadership Meetings: Bi-Weekly meetings with the Owner and Office staff to assure weekly task are getting completed. Go over staffing concerns and or issues.
- Staff Meetings: Establish monthly meetings with the moving and driver staff to go over training and safety issues. This can be a cookout at the shop, or a sit down location for breakfast.
- Training: Establish a training plan for all new hires to assure they are doing things to our standard. Hold monthly meetings to go over training issues and customer reviews. This can be done in a breakfast for the staff setting.

Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in operations management, preferably in the moving, logistics, or transportation industry.
- Leadership Skills: Proven experience in leading and managing teams, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff to achieve high levels of performance.
- Customer Service: Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using logistics software, fleet management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data and metrics to make informed decisions and improve operational efficiency.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move heavy objects, as needed, and work in various environmental conditions.
- License/Certifications: Valid driver’s license required; commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred. Must be able to pass a DOT Physical to operate our equipment.
- Background Check: Must be able to pass a background check including fingerprints through local law enforcement.
