What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Writer / Documentation Specialist position at Binary-Code, LLC?
Responsible for all formal documentation for the project, including strategic plans, CIRPs, SOPs, and training materials. Ensures all content is clear, accessible, and aligned with City expectations and cybersecurity best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft and revise assessment reports, strategic plans, and CIRPs
- Standardize document formatting and language
- Create SOPs and user-friendly reference materials
- Support training material and summary presentations
Job Duties:
- This position may be performed remotely; however, onsite support may be required during key review sessions and stakeholder feedback meetings in Smyrna, Georgia.
- Translate technical input into plain language documentation
- Coordinate with technical staff to ensure document accuracy
- Assist with development of visual aids and executive summaries
- Maintain version control and documentation audit trail
Experience:
- 10–15 years of experience in technical writing, preferably in cybersecurity or public sector projects
- Demonstrated ability to write for mixed audiences (executive, technical, and end-user)
- Experience with documentation tools and accessibility standards
Required Certifications:
- CPTC (Certified Professional Technical Communicator)
- ITIL v4 Foundation (preferred)
