Technical Writer/Report Specialist
Location: Remote and Onsite as Required: Wytheville, Virginia (with travel to Bland, Carroll, Grayson, Smyth, and Wythe Counties, as well as the City of Galax)

Job Summary
- Develop clear and detailed reports summarizing findings and recommendations from vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Compile and document assessment results, including executive summaries and technical findings.
- Translate complex technical information into clear, actionable reports.
- Provide steps for immediate mitigation and risk reduction.
- Ensure documentation aligns with MRCS requirements and NIST standards.
Reporting and Documentation
- Deliver comprehensive reports detailing the scope of services, findings, and recommended actions.
- Create professional presentations for MRCS leadership based on findings.
Coordination and Communication
- Collaborate with the technical team to ensure accuracy in documentation.
- Engage with MRCS stakeholders to clarify reporting needs and expectations.
Compliance and Best Practices
- Ensure reports adhere to NIST 800-171 standards and industry best practices.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, IT, or a related field.
- Experience: Proven experience in technical writing, preferably in cybersecurity.
- Certifications: CTP, ITIL Foundation Certification.
- Skills: Excellent writing, attention to detail, and ability to present technical information clearly.
Work Environment
- Remote work with travel across MRCS service areas as needed.
- Standard working hours are 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, with flexibility for project needs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $77,865.00 - $85,266.00 per year
