About Our Company

In 1957, Franz Binder, sr. founded the since then existing independent family business binderholz as a small “one-gate sawmill” in Fügen in Zillertal of Tyrol. What began sixty years ago, initially in the timber trade, has now evolved beyond the saw mill to encompass a much more comprehensive wood processing operation. New standards are continuously being implemented in the domain of engineering, product innovation and architectural design. Meanwhile the third generation of the Binder family retains overall management of the company and furthermore maintains their predecessors’ original inspiration for the product.

The binderholz group has become one of the biggest solid timber producing companies in Europe. Both in the treatment and in the processing of the quite essential raw material wood, and with regard to our present and future employees, we are centrally oriented on the concept of sustainability.

In 2020 we have acquired our new US production sites Binderholz Enfield LLC. & Binderholz Live Oak LLC. in Florida, developing our US organization and market presence to a larger scale step by step. We have been importing various mass timber products to the US & Canada for years, but with our own US sales entity in Atlanta, GA and our new production sites in Enfield, NC & Live Oak, FL we are heading to meet the growing demand of saw timber and massive wood products through regionally sourced and produced binderholz products in America.

Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Certified Grader to join our team. As a Grader of Southern Yellow Pine, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and accuracy of our products through careful inspection and analysis. Your expertise in quality systems and precision measuring instruments will be crucial in maintaining our high standards.

Schedule:

• 12 hour shift
• Day shift

Main Responsibilities:

• Using computers, HMI, and control panels to set up production lines to sort through various grades of lumber.
• Knowing and understanding of Binderholz grading/trimming rules for green lumber
• Knowing and understanding of National Grading Rule (NGR) for 2” dimension lumber
• Operating the grading line to maintain the flow of wood through the production process.
• Reading and understanding to ensure correct grades of lumber are being produced.
• Communicating with the operator of any production/quality issues that may arise.
• Follow safety and work procedures.
• Clean industrial equipment and workstations
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

• 3 years relevant job experience preferred.
• Certified Grader.
• Previous experience grading Southern Yellow Pine.
• Conduct thorough inspections of products using precision measuring instruments.
• Analyze product samples to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
• Perform quality audits to identify any deviations or non-conformities.
• Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to develop and implement effective quality management processes.
• Must be dependable and show ability to take direction.
• Able to work flexible schedules and long hours.
• Minimal skills required, however must be able to learn general manufacturing duties.
• Ability to work outdoors in all temperatures, in loud, high-volume environment.
• Ability to work with computer software, Human Machine Interface (HMI), and control panels to operate grading line safely and effectively.
• Perform essential functions of job that includes walking, standing, climbing stairs, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time; must be able to sit, stand, push/pull, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, or crawl occasionally.
• Frequent lifting/moving of items that may range in weight up to 50 pounds.
• Regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.
• Exposed to hot, cold, wet or humid conditions.
