Job Summary: Bingham & Taylor is seeking a skilled Core Room Operator to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining core manufacturing equipment, ensuring the production of high-quality sand cores used in the casting process. All duties will be performed within safety, quality, and production standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mix and measure compounds or weigh premixed compounds; then pour them into the machine.
- Pour or load sand into hoppers, using shovels.
- Observe the continuous operation of automatic machines to ensure that products meet specifications and detect malfunctions, making necessary adjustments.
- Observe gauges and pressure gauges to verify temperatures, pressures, and press cycle times.
- Preheat tools using torches or other equipment.
- Remove finished products from molds using hand tools.
- Shape molds to specific contours, using sand, trowels and related tools.
- Operate hoists to move items.
Qualifications:
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous manufacturing, warehousing or industrial experience preferred.
- Demonstrated stable work history preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Detail oriented and committed to quality and safety.
Physical Requirements: This position may require frequent bending, lifting, and moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Employees should be able to perform this duty with or without reasonable accommodations.
