Job Title: Grinder
Department: Foundry - Cleaning
Reports To: Supervisor
Shift: Second Shift, Monday through Thursday 2:30pm to 1:00am
Job Summary: Bingham & Taylor is seeking a skilled Grinder to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating the grinder to remove excess material or burrs from surfaces, sharpen edges or corners, or buff, hone, or polish castings to specifications. All duties will be performed within safety, quality, and production standards. Fluency in English is required for this position, as effective communication is essential for successful job performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lift and position castings manually on grinder faceplates, hold and maneuver to remove imperfections.
- Operate hand grinders to perform detailed or interior cleaning of castings.
- Operate swing grinder to perform cleaning of castings.
- Put cleaned castings in baskets or bins.
- Maintains 5S in work area and department.
Qualifications:
- Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Prior manufacturing, warehousing or industrial experience preferred.
- Demonstrated stable work history preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and safety.
Physical Requirements: This position may require frequent bending, lifting, and moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Employees should be able to perform this duty with or without reasonable accommodations.
