Controller

Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting and finance, with expertise in governmental accounting and corporate accounting practices. As a Controller, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the organization's goals.

Duties

• Oversee all aspects of financial reporting, including account analysis and preparation of financial statements.
• Manage accounts receivable processes to ensure timely collection of payments.
• Implement and maintain double entry bookkeeping systems to ensure accuracy in financial records.
• Conduct regular forecasts to provide insights into future financial performance.
• Ensure compliance with governmental accounting standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with external auditors during audits and prepare necessary documentation.
• Utilize accounting software such as Xero and Sage for efficient financial management.
• Provide leadership and guidance to the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
• Proven experience in public accounting or corporate accounting roles.
• Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyze complex financial information.
• Proficiency in account analysis and understanding of governmental accounting principles.
• Familiarity with Xero and Sage accounting software is highly desirable.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey financial information to stakeholders.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple priorities.

Pay: From $55,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
