The Binghamton City School District is seeking candidates to fill an anticipated Parent Educator position for the 2024-2025 school year.
Parent Educator
220 days per contract, 6 hours per day)
In order to be considered for this opening, applicants must be :
- Currently on the Civil Service eligible list for the title, or
- Currently appointed to the title, or
- Eligible to take the exam for the title when it becomes available.
DUTIES : The work involves responsibility for providing advice and assistance to the parents and or guardians of all families. The incumbent in this class coaches parents as the childs first teacher during the prenatal to age three period. The work is performed under general supervision with considerable leeway allowed for the use of independent judgment. Does related work as required.
Job Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION : EITHER :
Note : 60 college credits in sociology, human services or behavioral science or a closely related field is equivalent to an associate degree.
