This is an entry level Biomed position requiring Technologist II experience at a minimum. This position will be trained by external vendors and the more Senior BioMed technicians how to maintain and repair laboratory equipment. The candidate will maintain effective communication with internal and external customers.

Competently perform all assigned departmental duties. May include specialized support in the Biomed area that includes:
Work closely with the laboratory staff.
Respect for co ‐ workers and management staff. Positive work attitude.
Performs skilled work on preventive maintenance, repair, safety testing, and recording functional test data. Perform computer data entry.
Maintain strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Learn how to troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
Excellent customer service [for both internal and external customers].

Assure timely troubleshooting and resolution associated with equipment repair. Assist in routine maintenance of laboratory equipment.

Education Requires a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work relative to the field of assignment.
Licenses and/or Certifications
Valid United States Driver’s License
Prefer Certified Medical Laboratory Technician/Scientist, (MLT/MLS), (ASCP)
Experience
Requires three years or more of laboratory experience (testing samples).
Requires one or more years of related experience in FDA regulated setting for drug, device, or biologic product development/manufacturing.
Requires one year experience as a Biomedical Engineering Tech/technician (BMET). Requires parts inventory management experience.
Prefer experience with environmental monitoring/control equipment.
Knowledge
Must obtain a working knowledge of regulatory/quality requirements and perform within all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies.
Must acquire a working knowledge of quality, basic troubleshooting, and laboratory systems.
Skills
Must have strong customer service skills.
Must have the capability to be a self ‐ motivated and self ‐ managed individual.
Must have experience using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Outlook, Visio, PowerPoint and Excel. Must be able to print and write legibly.
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
Must be capable of operating motor vehicles in all types of weather conditions. Must maintain competency in specialty skills.
Must become familiar with equipment management system (Up ‐ Keep)

May have bodily exposure to refrigerator/freezer temperature, especially hands and face. Will work extended hours during peak periods.
May be required to work any time of the day, evening or night during the week or weekend, to include being on ‐ call. Ability to use personal motor vehicle for company business required.
