 Pay Rate: $22-$30/hr, D.O.E

Job Overview/Summary

Performs equipment and facilities reliability maintenance activities in accordance with approved procedures. Analyzes and troubleshoots the root cause of equipment problems and implements effective corrective maintenance repairs to provide increased reliability.  Follows standard operating procedures (SOP) to complete tasks, some of which may vary in scope, sequence, complexity, and timing.  Refers deviations from SOPs to the supervisor. Troubleshoots maintenance issues with assistance.  Applies skills and knowledge to increase efficiency, throughput, and quality.  May setup equipment when applicable.  Identifies and solves moderately complex problems.  Makes decisions that require choosing from limited options. Performs work tasks in such a manner as to not waste material or time.     

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

·         Performs preventive and predictive maintenance tasks on all facilities’ equipment and manufacturing and packaging equipment according to the frequency written in SOPs. 

·         Performs condition-based monitoring while proactive maintenance (PM) is being performed, and notes problems or changes in the comment section of the PM form.

·         Adheres to Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) strategies utilizing a pro-active approach to minimize equipment downtime.  This job description is subject to change at any time.

·         Troubleshoots problems or breakdowns on control valves, motors, pumps, actuator, HVAC controls, boilers, chillers, domestic water, compressed air systems, deionized water systems, and other facilities equipment in the plant.  May also troubleshoot problems and breakdowns on agitators, tablet presses, encapsulation machines, blenders, ovens, vectors, fitzmills, and other production equipment in the Manufacturing department.

·         May assist in set-ups of the equipment in Manufacturing including the breaking down, cleaning, re-assembling, and startup of equipment.

·         Must adhere to all relevant SOPs for cleaning protocols.  

·         Completes project assigned work in a timely fashion.

·         Contributes to team and project success by sharing previously acquired knowledge.

·         Adheres by training requirements, including Company required and utility equipment training.

·         Attends all Maintenance and other meetings when mandatory.

·         Follows all applicable SOPs, including, but not limited to, lock-out, tag-out and PPE requirements.

·         Performs other duties as assigned.

 

·         A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with 8 years’ related experience and/or certification in assigned area, as required.

·         Must have solid working knowledge and skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and/or equipment needed for the position.

·         May require working knowledge of Non-destruct Test Methods.

·         Knowledge of processes described in SOPs and where to find/how to use SOPs.

·         Knowledgeable of cGMP regulations and processes.

Preferred Qualifications 

·         Learns and performs equipment maintenance, repair and set up, and become Qualified.

·         Interfaces with external vendors and service providers.

·         Qualified and demonstrates competence in utility equipment.

·         Troubleshoots with assistance.

·         Assesses and performs PM tasks.

·         Reads and follows schematics, engineered drawings, technical drawings, and/or blueprints.

·         Basic math, writing skills, and excellent problem solving abilities.

·         Basic computer skills.

·         Ability to use hand tools.

·         Control Precision - ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine to exact positions.

·         Proficient in troubleshooting and repair in 2 or more of the following areas:

o    Electrical

o    Hydraulics

o    Pneumatics

o    Mechanical

o    PLCs

·         Specialized in at least 2 of the following 5 areas:

o    Utility - purified water systems, compressed air, boiler, chilled water, electrical distribution, product dust collection systems.

o    Building Maintenance – sewers, electronic card readers (when applicable), lighting.

o    Fire suppression systems.

o    HVAC competence and certification, as required.

o    General building and grounds maintenance, including plumbing, painting.
