Bio Fab Technologies is a custom stainless-steel fabricator that manufactures equipment for the Food and Pharmaceutical industries and with our continued growth we are looking to add an impact player to our team as a Welder-Fabricator.
To weld and fabricate parts, assemblies, and weldments in accordance with specifications and per company standards. Responsible for fitting and welding of stainless steel parts using a TIG and / or MIG process. Structurally sound / quality welds are critical to the performance of welded assembly / weldment.
This position is NOT at our headquarters in Pleasant Prairie, WI; it is located at our customer’s location in Waukegan, IL.
Job Responsibilities :
The Welder-Fabricator that holds a lead capacity may also be responsible for training and development of newly onboarded employees.
Pipe fitting
Fitting & Tacking the pieces into the weldment – Measuring and clamping the material and then tack welding.
TIG Welding (GWAT) & MIG Welding (GMAW) – TIG is performed the vast majority of the time – MIG is performed as needed.
Participate in all safety programs and follow all safety policies and rules.
Other duties as assigned
External customers / end-users : Aesthetically pleasing & structurally sound welds are critical to customer satisfaction : they are a key component of the "fit and finish" of the product.
Qualifications :
Minimum Education : High School diploma or equivalent
Minimum Experience : Hand tool proficiency
Deadline driven

Physical Requirements :
Driving a passenger vehicle.
This position involves exposure to physical hazards associated with working in a metal fabrication / welding environment 100% of the time. This position also involves indoor / sheltered work. Noise levels exceeding 85 dB are routinely present. Infrequently involves exposure to temperature extremes and fumes / odors consistent with working in a metal fabrication shop.
Job involves constant standing, as well as climbing over / under equipment and working in awkward positions (squatting, welding on your back or stomach), reaching, bending and stooping.
Routine lifting of less than 10 lbs and occasionally up to 30 lbs.
Periodically required to work navigate stairs, take elevators, and climb ladders.
