We are seeking an experienced Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to join our team at BioLife Plasma Services.
What You Will Do
As a Medical Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in the success of our plasma collection operations. You will be responsible for determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable test results.
You will also be responsible for supporting the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable. Additionally, you will manage employee incidents and refer them to occupational health or ER if necessary.
Your Main Responsibilities:
- Evaluate donor reactions, which occur at the facility as outlined in the SOPs. Follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, including the development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when necessary, providing unacceptable findings to donors or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
- Support the implementation of protocols related to infectious disease control and blood-borne pathogen exposure prevention.
