As a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse), you will play a crucial role in determining donor eligibility, managing adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable test results. You will work under the guidance of the Center Manager and the management of the Center Physician for operational and medical issues.
To succeed in this position, you will need to be familiar with regulations in the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment and follow guidance provided by BioLife Medical Affairs. You will also be responsible for supporting environmental, health, and safety (EHS) initiatives at the center level.
- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, and confidential self-exclusion
- Manage donor adverse events, which occurs at the facility as outlined in the SOPs
- Evaluate donor reaction(s), following applicable SOPs for medical emergencies
- Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable
